The Sriracha and Slaw Alternative Burger

Ingredients

  • 2 Alternative Meat Co. The Alternative Burger patties
  • 2 brioche rolls, lightly toasted or warmed
  • Sriracha mayo
  • 1 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • Salt flakes
  • red cabbage, shredded
  • ½ beetroot, julienned using a mandoline
  • 1/3 Granny Smith apple, julienned using a mandoline
  • fresh continental parsley, leaves picked
  • fresh coriander, leaves picked
  • mint, leaves picked
  • 1/3 lemon, Zest and juice of
  • 1 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • Salt flakes and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Method

METHOD

  1. Place all the prepared slaw ingredients in a large bowl and toss to combine.
  2. Preheat pan or BBQ plate to medium heat. Add 1 Tbsp of olive oil.
  3. Cook burgers for 3-5 minutes on each side, until golden brown. Take care not to overcook the burgers to preserve juiciness. When cooking watch out for the beetroot juice bleeding just like areal meat burger. The interior and edge of the burger may still be a little pink when fully cooked.
  4. Slice the rolls in half and give them a light toasting on the grill.
  5. Smear a generous amount of sriracha mayo on the bases of the rolls.
  6. Add a good handful of slaw and then burger patty. Season and close with the roll lid.
  7. Serve hot and enjoy!
