Maple Glazed Sausages ‘n’ Mash

Cooking time: 20 minutes


  • 6 Alternative Meat Co. Sausages
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 red onion, cut into thick wedges
  • 2 garlic cloves, crushed
  • 1/3 cup (80ml) maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup sage leaves

To Serve:

  • Mashed potato, with sour cream and chives
  • Steamed greens


  1. Preheat pan or BBQ grill to medium heat and add oil. Cook sausages and cook for 7-9 minutes, turning frequently until golden brown.
  2. In a separate pan, add the onion and cook, stirring occasionally, for 3 mins or until onion just softens.
  3. Add garlic, maple syrup and sage to the second pan with onion. Bring to a simmer, uncovered, for 3 mins or until syrup thickens.
  4. Divide the mashed potato and steamed greens among serving plates. Top with the sausage and glazed sauce mixture to serve.
